Sophoun is the rebellious daughter of a strict army colonel. When her father tells her that he is going to marry another woman, Sophoun runs way from her home and hides in an abandoned cinema. There, she discovers an incomplete movie from the `70s which is from the pre-Khmer Rouge period, and she is shocked to learn that the film starred her now desperately ill mother as a glamorous young woman. With the help of the cinema`s elderly projectionist, Sophoun remakes the film by filling in the last reel with her reprising her mother`s role. She hopes that by premiering this film, she can remind her mother the life that she`d once lived and mend the psychological scars that still haunt her.
